| I'm fixing to go to small group bible study but I'll be back with a better update. Right now you'll just have to settle for a quote from my book, Seeking Him
This is what Revival is... "Despite the tremendous amount of activity found in religious circles today , there is a very real sense in which the Church itself is like a sleeping giant....When revival comes, the giant will not only stir and awaken, but also move with dynamic power and glorious impact. Can you imagine the entire Body of Christ moving throughout the earth with unified purpose and Holy Spirit power?...Unleash all this transforming power against the forces of sin and evil in your community. That is what revival is." Richard Owen Roberts, Revival

So life is good. At least now. But I guess it always has, I'm just too dumb to see it.
This past week, I have yet to come home before 11...pm. No no, I'm not out partying every night...or am I? Actually, our church choir is recording not one but two CDs in two weeks, which is magnificent. One is our Living Christmas Tree CD (more on that event later) and the other our Fall Gospel CD, produced by Sonlight Records. Bro. Joe asked me to sing guide vocals for the CD. Now for those of you who don't know what guide vocals are let me tell you. Have you ever had to sing a song and or was in a choir and was singing a song from a CD? If so, then you know that every song is on there twice; with and without vocals. Well that's what guide vocals are, the big choir will be listening to the guide vocals while they are recording the song, then later the sound engineer will mix in the guide vocal blend with the mass choir and make a superly-awesome CD.
Now we don't have the luxury of having guide vocals already so we have to make our own, plus using someone elses guides when making your own CD is for teh n00bz. So anyways I figured there would be about 30 or 40 people there recording guide vocals, you know about 20% of the choir....Way off, there was about 16 people there, which means 4 basses. This is the big leagues now boy, you better step it up.
I'd have to say however that recording from 6 to 10:30 four nights in a row this week was one of the most amazing experiences in my life, as I told a friend of mine. It was also one of the most geek-satisfying moments in my life as well. Anytime I'm in a room where there is more electronic equipment than people, I know I'm where I need to be. And speaking of singing, I'm gonna be singing at church in my group One Desire not this week but the next. Look for me at our Website.
In other news, in the past week or so I've met more people outside of work than ever since I've been here. It's truly a blessing to hang out with people your age who love Christ. I've decided I'm gonna join a small group up here to help strengthen my personal relationship with my Savior and also to help reach out to my friends to ask them to come and see what our Faith is about.
Now on the Geek Front let me say this:
Wii I'm getting one the second they come out. And my personal life will end shortly there after. I also got this this week. And these... I've been tinkering with my PC... Warning: Graphic Content. Do not view if you are sensitive to gore and violence. And to make you feel better here's a pic I snapped at work. Oh, and GO GATORS!!! |
